Rateče costumes
Permanent collection Ethnological Heritage of Rateče has been set up in the house since 2006. It is located on three floors and divided into three groups. An authentic black kitchen and a storage room are reconstructed on the ground floor. The Rateče folk costume – everyday and festive – is presented in the living room and in the small room. This is one of the rare costumes inSlovenia, still kept and occasionally worn by local people. On the first floor there are replicas of rustic furniture and a tourist information corner. It is also a venue for various events, members of Tourist Society Rateče-Planica are bringing needlework back to life and exhibit embroidered table cloths. History of Rateče is presented in the small room. The attic is equipped for showing older films about ethnology or Rateče. Visitors can try “Planica” ski jumps with the help of the computer with special software.
